Yokote Castle is a reconstructed hilltop keep overlooking the town of Yokote in southern Akita, a pleasant viewpoint over the Yokote basin. It’s especially atmospheric in February, when the town below hosts its famous kamakura snow-hut festival and the castle looks out over a snowbound landscape.
