Sannai-Maruyama is one of Japan’s most important archaeological sites — a Jomon-period settlement inhabited for around 1,500 years, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Reconstructed pit dwellings and the iconic six-pillared timber tower let you picture life 5,500 years ago.
