The Tsugaru Railway ‘stove train’ is a nostalgic winter ride through the snowy Tsugaru plain. Vintage railcars are warmed by pot-belly coal stoves, and attendants grill dried squid (surume) right on top — you buy one and eat it as the train rattles through white countryside.
