Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium, opened in 2009, is the home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp and one of the best places in Japan to experience baseball. Uniquely, the Carp are community-owned rather than backed by a single corporate giant, and the bond with the city is fierce: the stands fill with a sea of red, fans chant continuously through their team’s at-bats, and the atmosphere is famously warm and family-friendly. The ballpark itself is an American-style open stadium with wide concourses, a variety of quirky seating including sofa and lie-down seats, and excellent food, including Hiroshima okonomiyaki.

Tips
Buy tickets online well in advance, as Carp games sell out often and same-day tickets are scarce.
