Stretching two kilometres along the Kitakami River, Tenshochi Park is lined with 10,000 Yoshino cherry trees that form a blossoming tunnel each April. Rent a rowboat to drift beneath the overhanging branches, or ride the little steam train through the park. Blossoms reflected in the river with the distant Kitakami mountains make this one of Tohoku’s most beloved spring walks.
