The Kitayamazaki Cliffs are one of the Sanriku coast’s grandest sights — eight kilometres of sheer 200-metre sea cliffs plunging into the Pacific. Clifftop lookouts give sweeping panoramas, while boat tours pass close to the sea caves and arches carved into the base. A raw, elemental landscape far from the crowds.
