Omiwa Shrine (Miwa Myojin) in Sakurai is considered one of Japan’s oldest shrines, worshipping the sacred Mount Miwa itself instead of a built sanctuary. A revered power spot for luck, health and sake brewing, it is fronted by a towering torii visible across the plain.
