Ryukyu Mura is an open-air theme park in Onna, central Okinawa, that recreates the look and life of an old Ryukyu Kingdom village. Relocated traditional houses with red-tiled roofs and guardian shisa, costumed staff, lively eisa drum-and-dance performances, sanshin music and hands-on craft workshops make it an easy, family-friendly introduction to Okinawan culture. It’s a popular stop on the way up the west coast toward the Churaumi Aquarium.
