Nagai Park is one of Osaka’s largest green spaces, a broad expanse in the south of the city built around sports stadiums, wide lawns and, at its heart, the Nagai Botanical Garden. The garden lays out themed zones — a large pond, seasonal flower fields, a rose garden and collections of trees — alongside the Osaka Museum of Natural History, whose dinosaur and whale skeletons make the pairing a strong family destination. It is a local, unhurried place rather than a tourist sight, filling with joggers, families and flower-watchers, and it changes character strikingly with the seasons.
