Nakanoshima is an open-air museum of Osaka’s early-modern grandeur:

  • Osaka City Central Public Hall: The island’s icon — a magnificent red-brick and granite hall (1918) in neo-Renaissance style, beautifully lit at night. A National Important Cultural Property.
  • Bank of Japan Osaka Branch and the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library, both elegant period buildings.

Nakanoshima is Osaka’s museum quarter:
