Roppongi Hills is a large, modern urban development in the Roppongi district, centred on the 54-storey Mori Tower and a hub of shopping, dining, art and nightlife. Its main draw for visitors is the Tokyo City View observation deck near the top of the tower, which offers spectacular 360-degree panoramas over the city — with a superb view of Tokyo Tower lit up at night as its centrepiece, plus the Skytree, Tokyo Bay and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. On the same upper floors is the Mori Art Museum, one of Tokyo’s leading contemporary art museums, with changing exhibitions of Japanese and international art (a combined ticket often covers both). At ground level, Roppongi Hills has stylish boutiques, restaurants and cafés, public art including the giant Maman spider sculpture, and seasonal illuminations. Sophisticated and view-rich, it’s a great stop for city panoramas, art and upscale urban Tokyo.

Go up to Tokyo City View in the evening for the famous night panorama with Tokyo Tower glowing below, and consider the combined ticket that also covers the Mori Art Museum.
